THE CHALLENGE

The Beat the Backlist Challenge (further details can be found on NovelKnight’s site) is focused on knocking off titles that have been on your TBR for a while, or even ones that get pushed aside for new releases. Over the years, and especially this one, I’ve noticed that new releases are getting more and more attention while our TBRs continue to grow. And the polls I’ve seen/hosted have shown that readers also really want backlist title reviews (if that’s an added incentive to read more of them).

This challenge will run from January 1st to December 31st, 2017.

That’s right. You have en ENTIRE YEAR to complete your goal.

THE GUIDELINES

Books must be released prior to 2017

(this challenge isn’t for new releases)

That’s it!

Set your reading goal

Pick the books you want to read

READ!

This is more about you working toward decreasing your TBR stack alongside a bunch of other readers!

Post updates throughout the year with #beatthebacklist

Here’s my backlist (subject to change as I buy more):

clone tag: 92460406836498552

So I have 16 books as of right now and I’m really hopeful (and nervous) that I will get through at least the majority of them. I’m so excited for this is the first book challenge I have ever participated in! Thank you @NovelKnight for creating a challenge meant for a Procrastinate Reader like me! I’m super excited!

Update:

Also adding in my current reads and an ebook from an author I just met on Bookstagram.

The Additions

  • Darkness Whispers by Aubrie L. Nixon
  • Spells & Sorcery aka #LexieSpells by S. Usher Evans
  • Fear the Drowning Deep by Sarah Glenn Marsh
  • The Touched Saga: The Caress of Fate by Elisa S. Amore

IKR and it’s one I can totally get behind since most of the time my reads are from the backlist

Another fellow Ravenclaw, great! I’m impressed your backlog is ‘only’ 16 books; I wish I could say the same of mine… More Happy Than Not is a great read and quite a few of the other titles are somewhere on my TBR. Enjoy!

LOL. My backlog far exceeds 16 books. I hide from the world in my TBR pile cos nobody can find me there! It’s that huge! I am a procrastinate reader after all. LOL 16 is a large starting point for me. I really wanna make it through them all but I’m very slow when it comes to reading. Let me know what you think of the others when you eventually get to them. Do you have a link to your backlist post?

Good luck with the first 16 ones! 🙂 I see some interesting titles! I’ve been meaning to read Symptoms of Being Human and More Happy than Not. Let’s make Ravenclaw win!

We will definitely have to compare notes on those two when we get to them! LOL

PS: Absolutely love your blog name even though it seemingly has nothing to do with books LOL

  5. […] TPR: Thank you so much for being one of the first authors I get to interview! It really means a lot to me to have your support in this venture! This was an absolute blast for me! Glad you enjoyed yourself! I hope to read all your books soon and included HTRAMH in my backlog for the Beat The Backlist Challenge. […]

Nice! I vacillate between Slytherin and Ravenclaw, but chose Slytherin for this challenge because so many bookworms identify with Ravenclaw. :p Good luck!
